Democratic State Rep. Don Cazayoux won the 6th Congressional District of Louisiana over Republican Woody Jenkins by 3%. This might not seem so important, but this seat has been Republican for a really long time, for 34 years, and it shows how much people are getting fed up with Republicans. I know this is only a small portion of Louisiana, and Louisiana isn't that big of a state with only 9 electoral votes. But if Barack, or if somehow Hillary wins the nomination, win a couple of traditionally Republican states, they can swing some huge momentum towards the Democrats and build up.

I still support Marc Dann, and you should too

Yes, I know. He's admitted to having an affair, and he had to fire two people and two other's resigned. Here's the thing though, even though cheating on his wife was extremely wrong, that's defientley not comparable to the $50 million scandal in coingate. Taft didn't resign, Petro didn't resign, and I don't expect Dann to resign either, especially since he is actually looking out for Ohioans.
I've known Marc for probably 10 years, my brother and I played football with his son. So I am biased, but I'm not stupid. He has done so much for Ohio. He was won cases against the likes of Global Personal Inc. and AOL-Time Warner, saving Ohio consumers thousands upon millions of dollars. He has taken down several animal fighting rings, and he is still working for us. I know he has done a lot wrong, but I think most people who know how to think will realize, that the good things he has done, and will continue to do, enormously overshadow his wrongs.

Keep Working for Ohio Marc, there are still some who see how much you have done.

MV Blue's Authors, An Introduction Part II

Greetings again, readers. I'm author #2, Aaron Jenkins, AKA Light. I'm also 17, a senior at Ursuline Highschool and will be attending Ohio State University in the fall. I've been interested in politics for about the past four years or so, with the majority of my concern coming from my AP US Government class last year. I'm one of those people who stand out in the crowd and go against the norms of conformist society, including vowing stay clear from outside influences like drugs and alcohol. I've maintained atleast a 3.9 GPA over the course of my highschool career, with my favorite subjects being Social Studies and and the Sciences. I plan on going into a medical career with a goal of becoming a Neurosurgeon.

I, along with Tim, created this blog to counteract the blatant misinterpretations of recent politics by the authors of MVRed.com. Unlike their organization, we plan to use concrete evidence to backup the entirety of the claims that we'll bring up on this site. As both young Democrats and mostly supporters of liberal ideology, we find it disturbing that such thoroughly false claims could be created by people who we are personally acquainted with and that they would insinuate that the youth of the Mahoning Valley support extreme Republican ideals. It's our duty to expose the lies of MVRed.com and to provide substantially backed information to anyone who would be interested in learning the truth.

-I'm mostly liberal on issues, but in some ways I differ from my co-author.

-I don't believe in the death penalty.
-I don't believe in Abortion under most circumstances.
-I believe that the middle class is the driving force of America, and that more needs to be done to help stop the snowballing economy on its plunge downwards.
-I believe that the environment is important, including the problem of Global Climate change, but that we have more important things to worry about at the moment that have to be completed in our own country before we can start to change the state of our entire world.
-I believe that War is a last-resort for conflicts that cannot be settled by mere Diplomacy. The war in Afghanistan had a proper cause, but the Iraq war has become nothing more than a sham. "Mission Accomplished" my ass.
-I believe that it's necessary to protect our country through governmental means.
-I believe that homosexual people should be able to do what they want with their lives, but that marriage should be reserved for a man and a woman.
-I believe that immigrants are a crucial part of a society, and that hopefully a program can be worked out where the people in third-world countries who want to come to the United States for the increasing of the quality of their lives and paychecks can become a reality.
-I believe that drugs and alcohol are indeed still a serious problem for the youth of America.
Alternative energy sources are amazing important at the moment. I believe it should be one of our main priorities.

For our blog, the only main rule is that you stay consistent with the backing of your information. Refrain from posting nonsensical things without basis and purposefully starting arguments for no reason. This is a political blog, but we're not here to go at each other's throats like rabid wolves. In the next few days we'll be updating you with information on the hotly debated issues of the week. We also plan on covering the intense Presidential race that will without a doubt change everything going on the political world right now. Until then, Sayonara.

MV Blue's Authors, An Introduction Part 1

This blog was formed to inform those who live in the Mahoning Valley the truth, and to dispute the falsifications of MVRed.com. Here we will use facts to back up our opinions, to start out though we will introduce the authors, and show that we will not hide behind our names.

I am Tim Smith, 17, and a senior at Ursuline High School. I will be attending the University of Toledo for Physical Therapy this coming fall. I wrestled for 11 years, was two-time captain, and will probably do intermural wrestling in college. I played football for 11 years, and ran cross-country for one year. My strongest subjects are social studies and math. Personally, I'm a very disciplined person, I once lost 40 lbs for wrestling. I have standards and stand by them, I am also one of very few highschoolers that can say that I have never drank alcohol or smoked. I really became interested in Politics last year because of my AP US Politics class last year.

I'm not fully liberal, but I'm more liberal than conservative.

I believe in the death penalty.
I'm not sure yet on Abortion.
I believe in less taxes for the middle and lower classes, and more taxes on the upper class.
I believe that the environment should be a major priority, and there should be more regulations.
I believe in fighting just-wars, like against Afghanistan, not Iraq.
I don't believe in torture.
I believe homosexual people should be allowed to marry and adopt children.
I believe that we need immigrant workers, and should not be deported.
I believe that drugs and under-age use of alcohol and tobacco is a huge problem and needs to be dealth with.
I believe that we should focus on alternative energy sources, and make it a huge priority.
I believe that Social Security is a good program, but needs to be reformed so it will go strong for a long time to go.

Here are a few ground rules.
1. Comments have to be relevant to the original posts.
2. Don't come to this blog to start trouble, meaning you need to use facts to back yourself up.
3. There is no censoring of language, we believe in the first amendment.

Have fun, and MVIndependent, I have a proposition for you, to prove your "superior athleticism" a basketball game to 21 win by 2. We can say it's even because you're 40 something, and I have a torn rotator-cuff, so what do you say?
