This blog was formed to inform those who live in the Mahoning Valley the truth, and to dispute the falsifications of MVRed.com. Here we will use facts to back up our opinions, to start out though we will introduce the authors, and show that we will not hide behind our names.
I am Tim Smith, 17, and a senior at Ursuline High School. I will be attending the University of Toledo for Physical Therapy this coming fall. I wrestled for 11 years, was two-time captain, and will probably do intermural wrestling in college. I played football for 11 years, and ran cross-country for one year. My strongest subjects are social studies and math. Personally, I'm a very disciplined person, I once lost 40 lbs for wrestling. I have standards and stand by them, I am also one of very few highschoolers that can say that I have never drank alcohol or smoked. I really became interested in Politics last year because of my AP US Politics class last year.
I'm not fully liberal, but I'm more liberal than conservative.
I believe in the death penalty.
I'm not sure yet on Abortion.
I believe in less taxes for the middle and lower classes, and more taxes on the upper class.
I believe that the environment should be a major priority, and there should be more regulations.
I believe in fighting just-wars, like against Afghanistan, not Iraq.
I don't believe in torture.
I believe homosexual people should be allowed to marry and adopt children.
I believe that we need immigrant workers, and should not be deported.
I believe that drugs and under-age use of alcohol and tobacco is a huge problem and needs to be dealth with.
I believe that we should focus on alternative energy sources, and make it a huge priority.
I believe that Social Security is a good program, but needs to be reformed so it will go strong for a long time to go.
Here are a few ground rules.
1. Comments have to be relevant to the original posts.
2. Don't come to this blog to start trouble, meaning you need to use facts to back yourself up.
3. There is no censoring of language, we believe in the first amendment.
Have fun, and MVIndependent, I have a proposition for you, to prove your "superior athleticism" a basketball game to 21 win by 2. We can say it's even because you're 40 something, and I have a torn rotator-cuff, so what do you say?
